At CrossFit 3D we believe that training should prepare you for the challenges that life throws at you – the ‘unknown and unknowable’. We do this by offering a broadly inclusive programme tailored to meet the needs of each and every individual that trains with us.
This means we can help you regardless of whether you want to play professional sport or play with your kids at the weekend!
We recognise that needs of an 80-year-old Grandparent, Firefighter and professional Athlete will differ by degree and not kind. We scale the programme to suit you! You will be trained in the major lifts, basic gymnastic moves, kettlebells, and many other disciplines that will increase your work capacity. We will train you like an athlete to give you the ability to excel across broad time and modal domains.
Our programme is not only universally scaleable to meet the needs of everyone, it prides itself in its effectiveness and community. You will achieve results and make new friends that last.
Sound too good to be true? Let us show you! Come and visit us any time with no obligation to join. You won’t regret it.

Iain began his sporting life in golf and rugby. At the age of 16 his golf handicap was 2 and he decided to enter the professional ranks as assistant pro at his local club, playing on the regional circuit and coaching club members. At this point he was also playing rugby for a club and his school, which he continued until 3 years ago. Then, after a career change saw him employed for a decade in aircraft maintenance, he rediscovered his passion for sport and coaching, and forged a new career as a Personal Trainer, which he has loved every minute of.
His job allows him to improve his clients’ quality of life, watching them grow as individuals as they gain confidence and exceed their initial goals. Iain discovered CrossFit via a friend 2 years ago, and found it the hardest thing he has ever done, which of course was the main appeal!
“Coaching in the great environment at 3D is fantastic and the thing I love the most is watching people come in and conquer their weaknesses, doing things they did not think possible. It is a huge buzz and I know I have succeeded in doing a good job coaching if people are enjoying CrossFit as much as I do”, he says.

“Since finding CrossFit my whole outlook on life has changed, constantly working to be a better athlete and a better trainer. There is nothing more rewarding than helping others to be better human beings and to be ready to take on anything life throws at them. I am blessed to be able to train such amazing members and to be a part of a truly inspiring community of people here at 3D. The community, the friendships and the fitness are all a part of what makes 3D such a unique place to be”
Since an early age Ben has been involved in sport. He played youth football for clubs such as Manchester City and Liverpool. At 16 he moved to Newcastle to represent Newcastle United’s youth team on a scholarship.
After leaving football at 18, he moved on to play Rugby League at a high level. After sustaining an injury while playing Ben found CrossFit and hasn’t looked back since. The newest (and youngest!) member of the training team Ben is currently studying Sports Science and Strength & Conditioning at Salford University. And is gaining experience shadowing the other coaches at 3D and holds a Level 1 CrossFit certificate.
“CrossFit is a major part of my life, I absolutely love it. Since day one at 3D everyone has been so friendly and supported me, which I’m so grateful for. I’m so proud to say I am a trainer at the best box in the country and being able to make members old and new feel as welcome as I was is fantastic.”
